With your permission, we collect GPS location data during active flight tracking sessions. Location data is used for flight logging, live position sharing with friends, and finding nearby airfields.

We collect anonymised usage data such as features used, app performance metrics, and crash reports to improve the app experience.

Weather & Airfield Data

We retrieve METAR, TAF, and airfield information from public aviation data sources. This data is not personal information.

• To provide and maintain the Landaways app and its features
• To enable flight tracking, logging, and sharing
• To connect you with other pilots (friend requests, ride sharing)
• To process PPR requests via our partner SmartPPR

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• SmartPPR — When you submit a PPR request through the app, relevant flight and contact details are shared with SmartPPR to process your request.
• Other Users — Profile information, ride share posts, and live flight positions are shared with your friends or other users as configured by you.
• Service Providers — We use Firebase (Google Cloud) for authentication, database, and hosting services.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction.
